What actually gets sent in a notification?

Can I verify a generic webhook actually came from GetBotRank?
Yes — set a signing secret and every request carries an X-Webhook-Signature header, an HMAC-SHA256 of the exact request body, which you can verify before trusting the payload.
What happens if a webhook keeps failing?
A webhook that fails delivery 10 times in a row is automatically disabled. You can re-enable it from the Notifications page once the underlying issue is fixed.
