Is My Site in AI Training Data? A Common Crawl Checker
Check whether your domain appears in the latest Common Crawl crawls, the open archive many language models learn from, and whether you block CCBot.
People ask whether a model knows their brand. The honest first step is to check whether your site was even in the data it could have learned from.
Common Crawl publishes a free archive of billions of web pages. Many large language models were trained at least partly on data derived from it. Being absent is one plausible reason a model knows little about you. Being present does not prove any specific model used your pages.
How to use it
- Enter your domain.
- We query the Common Crawl index for the three most recent crawls, including subdomains.
- Read which crawls include you, see sample URLs, and check the CCBot result.
What the checks mean
- In recent crawls. All three is healthy. Some or none means coverage is patchy or missing.
- CCBot in robots.txt. CCBot is Common Crawl's crawler. If you block it, future crawls skip you. Earlier crawls stay in the archive.
- Index blocks. A rough size signal, not an exact page count.
Blocking CCBot is a reasonable choice if you do not want your content used for training. The tool tells you what is true. What you do about it is your call.
